Travis Parsons Chosen as New ANSI A10 Committee Vice Chair

The LHSFNA is proud to announce that Travis Parsons, Director of the Fund’s Occupational Safety & Health Division, will be the next Vice Chairperson of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) A10 Construction and Demolition Operations Committee, of which the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) is the secretariat.

“I’m honored and humbled to accept this role and eager to continue my work with the A10 committee. I look forward to leveraging science and data to develop the most current and protective safety and health standards possible,” says Parsons. “Throughout my career, I have constantly advocated for enhanced worker protections, and I am excited about this opportunity to make an even greater impact in this crucial area.”

ANSI/ASSP A10 (A10) is one of the oldest and largest standards-writing committees in the United States. The committee develops timely, state-of-the-art consensus standards on occupational safety and health for the construction and demolition industry, and is well-regarded for its impactful work to protect workers. These standards are designed to help employers and workers identify and mitigate risks, thereby reducing the likelihood of incidents and injuries on construction sites. ANSI A10 standards are widely recognized as best practice guidelines in the construction industry.

As Vice Chairperson, Parsons will collaborate closely with the A10 Chair, A10 Leadership Groups and the entire A10 Membership Team to enhance safety measures and mitigate risks associated with construction and demolition operations. His primary goals include bridging gaps in worker protections, advocating for the adoption of A10 standards by federal agencies and promoting the use of best practices among employers.

“Having closely collaborated with Travis on various projects, I can personally attest to his exemplary work that has earned him wide-ranging respect in this industry,” says John H. Johnson, Chair, A10 Committee. “Travis will be an outstanding leader on this committee.”

We would like to congratulate Travis for being selected to lead this vital Committee and we are confident he’ll bring the same dedication to the role that he displays every day here at the LHSFNA.
